Care of Creation
Recognizing that the extreme effects of poverty are linked to the degradation of the natural environment, Care of Creation pursues a God-centered response to the environmental crisis in Africa. Gaining international attention, Care of Creation is helping to lead the way in working with rural areas in developing, implementing, and sustaining positive stewardship of natural resources. This program is an agricultural ministry that works through the Anglican Diocese to teach sustainable and cash crop farming. Throughout Kenya, Planting Faith is changing farming techniques and teaching economic principles for prosperous farming. As of 2008, Planting Faith has worked with more than 200 farmers.
Global Connections Farm (Jamii Moja Farm)
GC leases a 10 acre compound and community house for the GC family and volunteers in Tigoni, Kenya. The farm is set up for vegetables, with chicken houses, calf or hog parlor and other crops with irrigation. The farm will support some of the food needs for Limuru Children's Centre and the balance is sold to a large conference center. The Farm is currently employing 16 Kenyans and helping spur the local economy.
